Sand In My Shoes

Description

Two weeks away.
It feels like the whole world should’ve changed,
But I’m home now
And things still look the same.
I think I’ll leave it till tomorrow to unpack,
Try to forget for one more night that I’m back in my flat
On the road where the cars never stop going through the night,
To a life where I can’t watch sunset.
I don’t have time,
I don’t have time.

I’ve still got sand in my shoes
And I can’t shake the thought of you.
I should get on, forget you,
But why would I want to?
I know we said goodbye:
Anything else would’ve been confused, but
I wanna see you again.

Tomorrow’s back to work and down to sanity.
Should run a bath and then clear up the mess I made before I left here.
Try to remind myself that I was happy here
Before I knew that I could get on the plane and fly away
From the road where the cars never stop going through the night
To a life where I can watch sunset
And take my time,
Take all our time.

Two weeks away, all it takes
To change and turn me around, I’ve fallen.
I walked away and never said
That I wanted to see you again.

I’ve still got sand in my shoes
And I can’t shake the thought of you.
I should get on, forget you,
But why would I want to?
I know we said goodbye:
Anything else would’ve been confused, but
I wanna see you again.

[ Sand In My Shoes – Dido ]

I really love this song and somehow it popped up in my mid while Edoardo and I were shooting near the beach side of the Maria Pia pinewood. Of course, the beaches in Alghero have the most beautiful, fine white limestone sand I’ve ever seen, so that alone combined with Edoardo’s thoughtful expression did the trick quite easily.

As always, I must say I am impressed with your work. However, call it the part of me that's a newspaper editor but I have come to abhor empty space, the photo's have great composition, lighting and a certain poise to them. But by going for a slightly taller composition placing some imaginary columns you can break up this piece. Divide the work into five equidistant columns from left to right. The photos just barely overlap in the third or center column and the text is spread out over 2.5 columns on either side. By going taller and enlarging the pictures so that they overlap by three full columns with the words compressed into a single column on either side. That is to say, place the top left words in one columns worth of space and the words on the bottom right in one columns worth of space. This would give you a stronger piece and a tighter composition and would leave less empty white space keeping the eye from falling off of the composition in the bottom right and the top left corners.
Other than that error I don't see anything bad about this. I think you did rather well. Have a good afternoon, well I should say night due to the time difference.
