What The Water Gave Me by GothicNarcissus What The Water Gave Me by GothicNarcissus
Time, it took us
To where the water was:
That’s what the water gave me.
And time goes quicker
Between the two of us.
Oh, my love, don’t forsake me,
Take what the water gave me.

Lay me down,
Let the only sound
Be the overflow,
Pockets full of stones.
Lay me down,
Let the only sound
Be the overflow.

And oh, poor Atlas,
The world’s a beast of a burden,
You’ve been holding on a long time.
And all this longing,
And the shields are left to rust:
That’s what the water gave us.

So lay me down,
Let the only sound
Be the overflow,
Pockets full of stones.
Lay me down,
Let the only sound
Be the overflow.

‘Cause they took your loved ones
But returned them in exchange for you,
But would you have it any other way?
Would you have it any other way?
You couldn’t have it any other way.
‘Cause she’s a cruel mistress
And the bargain must be made,
But oh, my love, don’t forget me
When I let the water take me.

So lay me down,
Let the only sound
Be the over flow,
Pockets full of stones.
Lay me down,
Let the only sound
Be the overflow.

[ What The Water Gave Me – Florence + The Machine ]

The new single by Florence + The Machine is out on youtube, and it’s such an amazing song it couldn’t fail to inspire me, given that I had to shoot in the water for the Hurts song. It took me just a couple of listens and a quick reading of the lyrics to get stuck with this image, and here it is!
Taken in Alghero, Italy. You can read more about the photoshoot on my blog.

I have recently been downloading Florence and The Machine, and 'What the water gave me' can only be stated as pure and true. This picture certainly captures the key elements of the song and lyrics. Amazing photo!!!!!!

This is my second most favorite song from Florence... I was listening to it all night last night! xD

I actually did a photo for one of her songs too. "No Light, No Light". :P I want to do one for Cosmic Love as well. xD I love the serenity of this photo!

Makes me think of the greek god Glaucos. Though if his mythological appearance is accurate then you have him beat in the looks department by a long shot.

beautiful .... i love the stark contrast of the black polish on your fingernails with your hands ... you have elegant hands, i think they are lovely! this is truly a beautiful picture of you ... every feature seems more defined with your hair wet. I love this one!
