Description

The colours I have seen
Are appropiate partners
Of scene I all see,
My scene of reality.

The colours paralyse me,
Make my eyes free to be blind.
Catch your mind,
I'm to absolve,
I'm to absolve.

And I'll bring you
Presents from the inside.

[ Veil Of Dreaming - Leandra ]

Another dedication to my dearest Wiegenlied, again very, very appropriate. Because if dreams are a form of art, it’s a fabulous art to both dream and give dreams to others. So, she and I are two artists. I must confess that, because of some things which happened, she has been my muse for a major part of this photoshoot.

"It is the east, and Alex is the sun!"

...I'm such a dork.

The yellow is incredibly striking (Italy seems to have a lot of pretty yellows...I hope I can paint some when and if I get that Sorrento study abroad trip) especially against that variegated green from the warm, green-yellow wisteria to the cold, dark ivy. It's not a color palette I'm used to seeing, but it's really very beautiful.

The pose here is very femenine. Gender play is always a welcome thing, particularly in shots that have a lot to do with nature.

Being able to see the lower half of the model gives an interesting effect; it's almost as if s/he's slithering and twisting up the tree-- an effect which is furthered by the twining vines. It turns this picture into a portrait of Lilith/the Snake of Eden, almost-- another figure both masculine and femenine, and one that is considered evil and/or wrong in traditional Christianity, but one that might be celebrated considering the morality of today.
