Salome I: Longing And Captivity by GothicNarcissus Salome I: Longing And Captivity by GothicNarcissus
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you Salomé, a mini-series inspired by Oscar Wilde’s play on which I worked together with BriarRose and the amazing photographer Cunene.
An interesting fact about this work is that not only I only it’s my first studio experience (I mean, in a proper studio, not just some random place with my black background-fabric hanged somewhere), but it’s also the first time BriarRose and I modelled together (and since we’ve been knowing each other for four years now, I’d say it was about time!). The idea for this series was BriarRose’s, who plays Salomé, and since it’s based on Wilde’s work, I gladly took part in it posing as John the Baptist.
More photos are to come in the next days, so stay tuned: there will also be something quite unexpected. I will eventually write an entry on my blog too.

Knowing the story there is a a lot to this picture. Amazingly romantic even (though in a way thats both tragic and BDSM)

I can see "DO NOT WANT" written all over John The Baptist....while Salome, in her teasing, seductive ways, seems determined to find a chink in his armour....Oh John, don't you realize rejection is a powerful aphrodisiac for some?

Beautiful!

Her monologue at the end is chilling....some say though, that Salome was just a mere slip of a girl, and her dancing was the usual childish twirling, not the seductive jail bait variety...ah,creativity;)

I would like to imagine the roles reversed....

I love the subject!! (of course ) and the painting like sepia tone works well with the theme. You and Briar Rose both look stunning in this picture too. Looking forward to more of this series!

I agree with Carlondiel. It looks like a painting. It isn't like your other work. Something very unique. I would Critique this for you but I don't feel like have a right to judge this.

Bella come sei.

(Hope I spelled that right) :)

As I wrote, the painting-like feel is ~cunene's trademark and she did a wonderfil, very fitting job for a biblical/victorian play-inspired photo!

Love the costumes. And your hair, haha.
You two look good together :)

I do wish that the light had been a little stronger, though.
