Rootless by GothicNarcissus Rootless by GothicNarcissus
"I'm a cloud drifting by,
Dripping tears from the sky.
I'm a snail without a shell,
A leper with a golden bell.
I've got nowhere to go,
I'm a stray cat on the roam
Choking on a chicken bone,
For a home sweet, no sweet home,
For a root, for a leaf,
For a branch, for a tree,
For something, somebody
That reminded them of me.

Running with my roots pulled up,
Caught me cold so they could cut
What there was left of love.
I'm rootless,
I'm rootless.

Work your fingers to the bone
Building castles out of snow.
I'm a nomad walking on,
Humming to the same old song.
Lower case society,
Tied to no community.
A kingdom without a king
With no sense of belonging.
For a root, for a leaf,
For a branch, for a tree,
For something, somebody,
That reminded them of me.

Running with my roots pulled up,
Caught me cold so they could cut
What there was left of love.
I'm rootless,
I'm rootless.

Running with my roots pulled up,
So they could cut me free of love.
"

Final submission from my snowy session with Riccardo, and most probably also the last photo of this year.
This is a very important photo for me, 'cause it's inspired by one of those songs that I really feel mine, so I needed to take this image off my head. I kept it as the very last photo from the session because I knew Riccardo would freeze to death lying in the snow and at least he could change with warm and dry clothes and take shelter in the car straightaway aftermaths (athough we actually went for a snowball fight, lol!).
Taken near Monfalcone, Italy.

Photo, concept, editing, styling: Me

Trippin out
Spinning around
I'm underground
I fell down
Yeah I fell down

I'm freaking out, where am I now?
Upside down and I can't stop it now
Avril Lavigne- Alice
Now you're that good that you make me associate your photos with songs?! Boy, stop amaizing me, cuz i'mma have a heart struck.

It's good to be young and energetic, a snowball fight was the perfect end to a most success shoot, being an adult all the time is a such pain in the ass. Always stay young, being old can get very tiresome at times and LOL really I know that for a fact!

Oooh, that hair! I can't explain why, but when the rest of the picture is still, the messy hair is just a perfect addition. I also like how the sunlight hits his face, and the angle fits the title.

Knowing your deep connect with music and lyrics, this photo is a great symbol. This set with Riccardo has been awesome in so many respects, your work with him will be missed. I hope someday you'll be able to work with him again.
It's been an awesome adventure watching your work in 2012, an I'm excited for 2013
