"Sun comes out, wakes me up. Wanna sleep, need to sleep. Saw your face in my dreams; Fade away, far away.
Fade away, fade away...
Took your time, passing by. Smiles and tears - no one cares. Had you once, now you’re gone. Want you here, need you near.
Dreams and life, it seems, Are crushing boundaries in me. Paper waves and seas: Ride the tide with me.
Need to see you’re not far from me. I’m breaking time, crossing lines.
I start to run, to catch the sun From falling down and burn this town. I try to reach, you slip away. Can’t you stay? Please, just stay.
Cold and warmth collide Turning dark and light inside. Nights we over fly, All logic gone awry.
Fade away, fade away...
To know we might not meet again, I hardly bare to look at you. In all this mess we don’t complain, We kind of always knew."
[ Paper Waves - The Gathering ]
Oh my gosh. It's been literally years since I wanted to do a photoshoot in the snow and I still can't believe this eventually happened. Riccardo and I had planned a photoshoot for December 9th a week in advance and in the beginning it was supposed to be something much gloomier, with autumn colours. Then it snowed for two days and we found ourselves with an amazing winter wonderland to explore, which finally gave me the chance to develop several concepts I've been dying to do for years. This one is actually brand new, though: Paper Waves is one of my favourite songs out of The Gathering's latest record and I thought portraying the "paper waves" with the snow would be cool. So, here we go! Taken near Monfalcone, Italy.
