Cathedral Walls

Description

Where do we go from here?
When these words have been unspoken,
We carry this burden through the gentle summer rain.
The convoy is still,
Still and weeping,
Yet I don’t feel anything but these walls around.

And the candles on cathedral walls
Chase the weak light under the Saints’ eyes,
Over you and your shattered words
For the ones you lost. In your mourning
You’re alone, so alone.

This silence speaks a million words,
Words of comfort so shallow.
How I wish even for one tear,
But for my heart it’s too late.
Where do I go
When the sorrow turns to hate?
Where do I go from here?

The guardian angels, quiet and near,
Slowly turning away, for hell is surely here.
Every step towards the hole in the ground I rot,
Carrying your white coffin, my heart wide shut.

I will follow you, earth to earth.
I will follow you, ashes to ashes.
I will follow you, dust to dust.
I will follow you!

How I wish even for one tear,
But for my heart it’s too late,
When sorrow turns to hate.

And the candles on cathedral walls
Chase the weak light under the Saints’ eyes,
Over you and your shattered words
For the ones you lost. In your mourning
You’re alone, so alone.

Final shot from the session with Jonah, as usual my favourite from the bunch. Jonah was incredibly expressive i this one, perfectly showcasing the emotions of the song (which features a beautiful performance by Anette Olzon and you can listen here), and I love how the photo blends a fashion feel with a distinctly gothic mood. Also, that’s really a cathedral wall, as Jonah is sitting against the Milan Cathedral.

Continuing my odyssey to your works from my absence... this is one of my top 10 favorites too. Apart of the video of the song, which is one of the most stylish videos I've seen lately, apart of the concept, which I love again, despite its new depiction, apart of the fabulous and new angle you used for the model this time, apart of this simple air of cotidienne mood you gave to the shoot, apart of the "blends of fashion" and the expressiveness of the model and his so ordinary pose, I guess I love here the most the uniqueness. I mean I know already all your works from your gallery and this one is something you never did before, as concept, as well as perspective. Is very stylish and, thus, it would make a wonderful cover for any fashion magazine in my opinion. Is, I think your best achievement so far in this matter from behind the lens. Better than any DD you have gained so far. I don't find that the hand of the model is not well placed there, as somebody said here, but I find that mighty cigarette bloody suggestive, given the concept you have chosen for this work.

I still have some more works to comment on from this series, but, for now, I want to say that this series is one of your bests so far after the one you did with Alessio Da Bella. Not as profound as the last one, but is more suggestive and fashionable, despite, again, its suddenness. Is like you have played this time with challenges wanting to preserve some serious and healthy perspectives of photography. The series in between, the one with Rahluna, it has another perspective and I cannot count it for now as a comparability series. Is nothing comparable, but about this series, at the right time.

Congratz once again, as I really was impressed this time by this shoot with Alessandro and you just reminded me about a theme so dear to me when I was alive: death can dance, but I can do it better! :)
