Artist's Comments

"After all these years thou left'st me down in the emotional depths -
The sombre soaked velvet-drape is hung upon me,
Turning my feelings away from our so ignorant world:
All the beatiful moments shared, deliberatlely push'd aside -
...A distance there is...
"

Theatre of Tragedy - ...A Distance There Is...

I do love this photo, it's one of my favourite from this session. I took it exactly for this song, one of my favourites by Theatre of Tragedy. I really adore how it came out, and a second part will be released soon. I hope you like it too.
The meaning of this photo is moving ahead, even though you have to hush memories. Even though you are alone. The second half of this concept is ...My Heart Is Of Frailty....

I can see why you like it. Its an amazing shot.

I've faved all this set as I really love them so much, yes, it does fit the lyrics to that song beautifully. Those words are beautiful, like something from the 16th century. I love it.

Yeah, the first three albums by Theatre of Tragedy were written in early modern English, it's so fascinating! *___*
Thank you!

i confess to knowing little about them, I will hunt for them on Limewire as they sound as if they will be the kind of thing I'd like. I know for sure i'll love the words as I love Early English.

They were the pioneers of Gothic Metal, back in the nineties. If you can, I advice that you find Theatre of Tragedy, Velvet Darkness They Fear and Aégis. The latter albums are Industrial Metal, so I don't know if you'll like them all the same.

I'll check them out, of course I was a big fan of 80s Gothic music like the sisters of mercy, Cult,Bahaus, Skeletal family, The mission etc. That sort of stemmed from Punk, I also was /am a fan of Prog rock and old style metal. I must find out about these and widen my Gothic horizons. I fell in love with bands like Evanesence, Nightwish, Within temptation etc as a result of my neice who likes really way out stuff now that she calls "Screamo", bands like "Bring me the horizon" I don't like them but each to their own i guess.

Wow.. It's like you are 'facing the future'.. I like this photo the best, between them all. (I can easily understand why, you would think this is the best of this photo session.) :)

This view is breathtaking. :rose:

Actually, that's Fertilia, a suburb of my town, Alghero. It's quite near, maybe ten minutes by car.
I am glad you like this shot.
(And by the way, I live in Italy, not in Spain... ;))
